The Sutherland Shire is home for LEDS. Our base is in Miranda, so a lot of our work is close to home: decks over the water at Port Hacking and Burraneer, full renovations in Kareela and Como, and kitchens from Cronulla to Gymea.

LEDS completed a large full house renovation for us early this year. Think double brick 1970s home, on a tricky sloping block, with lots of unforeseen issues along the way... I was extremely relieved to have the LEDS team on our side. They made it as easy for us as possible. Nothing was ever too hard (or if it was, they hid it well!) Every challenge was met with a smile & "No problem, we can do this! Don’t worry”. They were not only super hard working, they remained enthusiastic through the entire job. Building in the Shire
What to know before you start
- Plenty of Shire blocks back onto bushland or sit on the waterfront. Bushfire-prone land, foreshore building lines and steep sites change what can be built and which approval pathway applies, so we check them at the first site visit.
- Many smaller decks and pergolas here are exempt development or can go through a CDC under the NSW Codes SEPP. Bigger additions, or jobs on constrained land, usually need a DA with Sutherland Shire Council.
